Guide

Where should a central vacuum power unit be installed?

Close to the main pipe line, away from bedrooms, with room to empty it.

Good locations

Garage, unfinished basement or utility room. These keep motor noise out of living areas and make exterior venting easier.

Things to check

Clearance above for removing the canister, a solid wall for the bracket, a suitable outlet nearby and the manufacturer's temperature guidance for unheated spaces.

Electrical

If the power unit needs a new dedicated circuit or outlet, that work must be done by a licensed electrician and is not included in our price. This applies to 120 V and 240 V units.
