Guide

How many central vacuum inlets does a house need?

It depends on hose length and layout more than on room count.

Plan by hose reach

Most packages come with a 30 to 35 foot hose. Picture a circle of that radius around each inlet, allowing for walls and furniture in the way. Inlets near stairs, hallways and open areas cover the most floor.

Common placements

Central hallway on each floor, near the top or bottom of stairs, the basement if it is finished, and the garage if you want to clean the car.

Fewer, better-placed inlets

More inlets is not always better. Each one adds cost and a possible leak point. We plan placement during your free quote.
