Central vacuum vs portable vacuum

Both clean floors. The differences are where the motor and dirt live, and what it takes to set up.

Central vacuum

Power unit in the garage or basement, a light hose you plug into wall inlets, dirt collected away from living areas, and outdoor venting possible. It needs installation.

Portable vacuum

No installation and lower upfront cost. The motor, dirt and exhaust are in the room you are cleaning, and you carry it between floors.

Which suits you

If you are building, renovating or plan to stay, a central system is worth pricing. Our Systems page lists equipment prices.
